'Argggh' says Jack- great start
Jan. 20, 2019, 9:09 a.m. - Team 67
At last we're heading off

Jan. 20, 2019, 12:38 p.m. - Team 67:
A disgruntled hitch haiku:
Annandale, you Beast / our hearts were almost broken /
But we're Carlisle bound!
Jan. 20, 2019, 1:34 p.m. - Team 67:
The hitch haïkus keep coming:
Changed our minds, yolo! /
A69, east bound for/
Washington, lets goooo!
Jan. 20, 2019, 1:43 p.m. - Team 67:
A hatred haiku for DFDS:
Your ferries are more /
Unreliable than men. /
Europe dreams? They're crushed.
Jan. 20, 2019, 3:26 p.m. - Team 67:
If Shakespeare wrote hitch haiku 9:
O villainous place /
Thou hath curdled mine morale /
Forsooth, I am sad
Jan. 20, 2019, 4:32 p.m. - Team 67:
Would be more fun than hitching. /
And a lot less cold.
P.s. We're magically in Wetherby
Jan. 20, 2019, 8:27 p.m. - Team 67:
A thankful haiku to everyone who's following our race:
Shoutout to our fans /
But not to those who doubt us /
Yes Fionn, I mean you
Jan. 20, 2019, 8:56 p.m. - Team 67:
Nameless legend saves /
The day, now the night begins /

Jan. 20, 2019, 10:31 p.m. - Team 67:
The final haiku:
Post fruitless pleas, now/
Time to sleep on Costa chairs /
Farewell haiku day
Jan. 21, 2019, 6:07 a.m. - Awakened still at Chieveley Services: Haikus hurt my brain / I lack imagination / Limericks instead?
Jan. 21, 2019, 10:03 a.m. - Team 67:
We've passed the 13 hour mark at Chieveley Services, after a wonderful night of not being able to lie down to sleep. Too exhausted for poems, hoping someone takes pity on us soon, as you were LG
Jan. 21, 2019, 11:23 a.m. - Team 67:
In a car heading to Heathrow north services which is a massive dead end buuut it's NOT Chieveley services!! woohooo!
Jan. 21, 2019, 2:21 p.m. - Team 67; Found ourselves on tiny road, waving madly at the passing cars. Thankfully one stopped and we made our way back on to the M25, got another lift from service station north of London and we're now at THURROCK SERVICES YEEEE (its currently empty but optimism is key)
Jan. 21, 2019, 4:46 p.m. - Team 67:
Thurrock services was a nightmare turned daydream. Shoutout to Eddie and Charlotte, the nephew and niece of our ride, who inspired her to take a chance on us (cue the ABBA). Dover we're coming for ya 🤪
Jan. 21, 2019, 5:18 p.m. - Team 67:
We're on a ferry at last!!!
Jan. 21, 2019, 8:02 p.m. - Emma charmed a lovely woman on the ferry, and she's taking to Brussels!! She loves the EU and we love HER ❤️
Jan. 22, 2019, 7:09 a.m. - Team 67:
Just woken up in our hostel in the middle of Brussels. Set to head out on a long trek across the city to try find somewhere with cars going through. Feeling thankful we've been able to sleep on a real bed!
Jan. 22, 2019, 8:30 a.m. - Team 67:
Highlight of the morning: running into a lovely St Andrews alum who did race2 last year!! He brought us tea and pain au chocolat and warmed our hearts ♥️ sadly still stuck in Brussels city centre
Jan. 22, 2019, 9:14 a.m. - Team 67:
Nice guy took pity on us and dropped us at the first service station on the E40. He was telling us about how he used to hitchhike to job interviews in Italy! Hitchhiking goals!
Jan. 22, 2019, 11:47 a.m. - After a fruitless wait in the snow, a kind woman (who was originally very opposed to 3 snowy students in her car) agrees to take us towards Liège. Just in time, Emma was about to lose a few toes.
Jan. 22, 2019, 2:43 p.m. - Team 67: STILL stuck in this service station outside Liege... unfortunately it seems to be the place to drop Race2 teams. Got offered a lift all the way to south east Germany but they only had 2 seats going 😭
Jan. 22, 2019, 3:12 p.m. - Just got dropped off in Aachen WE'RE IN GERMANY jaaaaa !! 🇩🇪
Jan. 22, 2019, 5:08 p.m. - It turns out that this service station is still Belgium side of the border... our disappointment in discovering this is second only to our disappointing lift prospects
Jan. 22, 2019, 6:08 p.m. - Team 67:
Nice guy in a spacious car (compared to our last 2 rides squeezed in the back with a baby seat anyhow) offered us a lift halfway to Frankfurt and we just couldn't say no. Great taste in French rap
Jan. 22, 2019, 10:31 p.m. - Hey it’s Team 67! We are at a service station outside Stuttgart 👏 shoutout to the man with the snow board who kindly explained how he himself would get to Munich which is exactly the kind of guidance we need right now! Also a share bag of Pombears have really lifted our spirits!!
Jan. 22, 2019, 11:56 p.m. - Team 67:
Still just south of Heidelberg, this service station is about as popular as Theresa May right now. After playing 'what's the weirdest thing being sold in this roadside shop?' for long enough to get sketchy looks, we've decided to settle down for the night.
Jan. 23, 2019, 6:24 a.m. - Team 67:
Still in service station outside Sandhausen. We've been up and trying to hitch for just over an hour but no luck yet. With only 9.5 hours til Jem needs to leave Munich to catch her flight, the clock is TICKING
Jan. 23, 2019, 7:36 a.m. - Team 67:
Having waited for 2 hours with no luck, we're reluctantly getting off our hitch-only high horse. Worth it to definitely catch this flight?? Only time will tell. Looking for public transport options to get us into Munich
Jan. 23, 2019, 7:46 a.m. - Team 67:
Lovely woman with loads of birthday cake in the back is taking us to a small town outside of Karlsruhe.
Jan. 23, 2019, 8:05 a.m. - Team 67:
Aaaall the way back in Chieveley services, a man gave us €20 to use 'if you ever even make it out of here'. Well, WE DID, and we used €10 to hop onto a tram to Karlsruhe. Thank you to Doubting Man for enabling our Race2 to continue 🙌
Jan. 23, 2019, 9:38 a.m. - Team 67:
Tried to blag our way on a flixbus to Munich but the mean driver said NO (via a bunch of pedestrian translators cause we couldn't speak each other's languages) even though I pulled out real tears
Jan. 23, 2019, 9:38 a.m. - Gonna try hitch while waiting for the next bus
Jan. 23, 2019, 11:13 a.m. - Team - 67 After multiple failed attempts to blag a flixbus we have had to bite the bullet and use some money that Dallas gave us for the journey so Jem can make her flight. Sad to not be able to blag/hitch this one but glad to be on our way to Munich. We also managed to raise some smiles and some euros by busking in the station!
